McVillage by UXUS

Comissioned by McDonald’s, UXUS design consultancy has conceived an inspiring children’s activity area for kids under 7 years of age, bringing the theme of “what I eat, what I do” to life. The entire project is a spatial application of graphic design as the use of images instead of words transcends those barriers associated with different geographical places and children’s ages.

The playful aesthetic stimulates imagination and represents a phase of the journey food goes through before finally arriving at the dinner table, creating a connection between kids and the education about food and cooking. (mais…)

Underwater Sculptures by Jason de Caires Taylor

…Pt. 2

Ingeniously exploring the symbiosis between art and environment, the multifaceted English/Guyanese artist, Jason de Caires Taylor, blends his strong interest in conservation, underwater naturalism and photography to materialize and make the most of his profound love of the sea and fascination with the natural world.

The Underwater Sculptures are the fine result of an ambitious project in which he creates artificial reefs submerged below the surface of the Caribbean Sea. In a constant state of change alongside tidal movement, shifting ocean sands and the eventual growth of corals and marine life, Taylor’s cement sculptures intend to facilitate positive interactions between people and fragile underwater habitats. His works are meant to encourage tourism to the galleries, sparing the delicate reefs nearby. (mais…)
